Well my best assumption would be that the dark solar mages are behind this somehow. They have held star and light solar mages in a special part of their twisted hearts ever since the Great Solar Split, which occured about 500 or so odd years ago. Before the Split, neither the solar or star mages held any malvolience for the other. Sometimes they even worked together. Some of the most powerful spells in history were created during this time by the combining of the two sides of magic. The darkness began when arguments broke out within the solar mages. This led in turn to the Great Solar Split. As in many conflicts, most of those who fought did not even know what the original dispute was, and none of this history books know either. I was there though, and know why the war occured. Power and jealousy were the main motivators for the dark solar mages. They wanted more than what they deserved. They wished to overpower their brethren and the star mages. Soon enough people had blindly joined them to create an army. (to be continued next post) |

Once they had enough followers, the dark solar mages claimed war upon their 'weaker brothers, who did not deserve the power they had'. In retaliance, the light solar mages asked the star mages for assistance, to which they agreed. The war lasted for 25 years, at the end of which, found the true solar mages and star mages victorious. Bitter and few in numbers, the dark solar mages vowed revenge and then left for the west. Every once in a while, the dark ones make an attack, but always lose. They are still weak and their allies are few. They last attacked around 100 years ago and haven't been heard from since. Anything could have happened during that time. Icefall looks over to Sweendog and Chumblespuzz. Sweendog, you mentioned your father earlier. Is it possible that he has allied himself with the dark solar mages? |

Kaeden: "Hmm... I have heard of that war. But on my planet, we have a different type of Star Magic. I am a "Moon Mage", for the moons control most of my power. But we do use the stars, but only for making predictions of the future." --- Silent Astronomer/Astrologist of the SoI. As of now, I am but a student. But in the future... |

Hmm. Well only the stars seem to have shifted. I will go check right now and make certain though. Icefall leaves the library and quickly makes her way to the telescope. She begins to search the sky for planets and other celestial spheres to make sure that they are where they are supposed to be. |

*Wanders in* Seem's I've gotten myself lost again. This certainly doesn't look like any Temple... Anyways, beautiful place you have here. Is it still open to tourists? *Rummages through his pockets for something* |

*Finishes rummaging and produces 50 credits* Though it would appear that the keeper of this observatory isn't in right now. Perhaps I'll come back on a later occasion. *Turns, and starts walking towards the exit* |

Icefall shakes her head as she moves away from the telescope and walks back to the library. After taking her seat, she addresses the group inside. Thankfully, none of the planets or moons have been moved. But the constallation Mika has moved for a second time. As for the Northern star, it still hasnt budged. The Northern Star is considered the most powerful sphere to be used by star mages. It could be that none of those involved are strong enough to change its path in the sky. At least this is a small sign of hope that the enemy has some weaknesses. |

(shameless plug back to the front page, sorry) Is anyone going to help continue this or should i just go on by myself and try to figure out a way around the fact that there are a bunch of people in the library, most of whom were concered about the goings on? |

<Kaeden leans forward and props his head in his hands, and his elbows on the table.> Kaeden: "At least he, or she, or they are unable to move the North Star. That gives us a small amount of hope, knowing that he, she, or they do not have far too much power for anyone to beat him, her, or them." --- Silent Astronomer/Astrologist of the SoI. As of now, I am but a student. But in the future... |

I was going to throw myself into this a couple days back, but no one else seems to be around. But if it's starting up again, than yes, I'll help continue it. |
