Icefall smiles at Kaeden. Yes, Nalyr is a friend of mine. I am glad that you were able to come. I hope Nalyr did not interrupt anything important. She ushers Kaeden into the building and silently closes the door behind him. She then begins to head for the library. I have something I was hoping you could take a look at. Maybe you might know what is going on. I am really worried that it is nothing good. |

<Kaeden speeds up his casual pace so not to fall behind.> Kaeden: "Hmm.... So what exactly would this problem be?" --- Silent Astronomer of the SoI. As of now, I am but a student. But in the future... |

Icefall stops and turns to face Kaeden, her usual smile gone and replaced by a serious look. I don't know how to explain it, but the stars are out of alignment. None of the constallations are where they should be. Some have completely vanished. This all seemed to have occured overnight. It makes no sense. I checked out all of my volumes and nothing like this is mentioned in them. |

<A look of slight confusion appears on Kaeden's face.> Kaeden: "Stars out of alignment... And some disappearing? And you have no idea how this happened?" --- Silent Astronomer of the SoI. As of now, I am but a student. But in the future... |

Icefall looks sadly down at the black and white tiles of the floor as she speaks. I do not know. I feel like I have failed in my own studies. I called you since you also know much about the stars and such-like. I know that you are somewhat unfamiliar with this planet's star system, but I was hoping that you might have seen or heard of something similar where you are from. |

She leads Kaeden into the library. The lights are dimmed and even though the fire in the fireplace still warms the room, even its light is diffused some. Icefall walks over to her desk where her star maps are laid out. From her pocket, she produces the small spherical crystal. Soon the night sky from outside is projected through the crystal onto the ceiling. Icefall begins to point out constallations to Kaeden. See these four stars on the map here? Well look right above your head. See? They are not there. And this constallation, which we call Sana, has been switched with the constallation Rolmore, which we shouldn't even be able to see at this time of year from here. The only part of the upper court of constallations that hasn't changed as far as I can tell, is the North Star. That is the only star that hasn't moved or completely dissapeared. |

<Kaeden shakes his head, sighing.> Kaeden: "I have seen many cases of disappearing stars, but that is because of the three irratically moving moons that sorround my planet. But I have never seen any cases of moving stars, at least not this fast..." <Kaeden ponders.> Kaeden: "And it happened overnight with absolutely no clues or reasons why it happened?" --- Silent Astronomer of the SoI. As of now, I am but a student. But in the future... |

I'm fairly certain that this isn't a natural phenomenon. My only guess would be that someone might be trying to mess with things more powerful than they are. The thing is, I can't prove anything. Moving stars is not mentioned anywhere in the magic book I own. I know that there are spells that can do such things, but none are listed in my book. Star movement spells are small though, only moving one or two stars temporarily to increase one's magic strength for a battle or a complicated spell. None of my history volumes mention a movement like this. |

Kaeden: "Hmm... I have heard of ways for mages to create their own spells, but that is a rather complicated process that only experienced mages should attempt." --- Silent Astronomer of the SoI. As of now, I am but a student. But in the future... |

I don't know of any really powerful wizards in this area, but apparently there might be one now. I could almost feel it when the stars moved. Have you sensed anything odd within the past few days? Icefall covers the crystal and returns the room lights to their proper settings. She places the crystal in her pocket and begins to roll up the maps. |
