Teferi slowly begins to follow the string of light from his spell towards Zadorin. As he moves, Teferi feels the atmosphere around him change and shift. The heat of the raging fires and the screams of scared mages fade into the distance, leaving Teferi in an inky darkness. His spell the only light, Teferi holds onto it and moves quickly. After walking for what feels like an eternity, yet only a second at the same time, the Star mage begins to hear shouting again, but this time only from one person. Not too far away, Teferi sees the thread of his spell passing through a large dark globe. Although surrounded in pitch black darkness, the sphere appears to be even darker than its surroundings. As he gets closer, Teferi recognizes the shouts to be in Jered's voice. Jered: What did you do to me?! I won't let you win! Teferi stands tentatively outside of the dark sphere as he listens. Still holding firm to his spell, the adept walks into the black globe. |

The scent of cool, crisp, mountain air greets Teferi as he finds himself back in the dome with Zadorin and Jered. Teferi looks all around, but Ashmere is nowhere to be found. The Star mage then takes note of his spell line, still intact. It leads straight to Zadorin, but then passes through him. Jered continues to try and regain his spell to no avail. He doesn't even notice Teferi standing there watching. Zadorin pays no attention to Teferi either as he builds a spell up to aim at the Solar mage of light. Teferi: Jered? Jered: I will not let the Dark ones succeed! Zadorin! What have you done?! Teferi walks over to Jered and gently shakes the man with one hand as he still holds onto his line. Teferi: Jered? Its me, Teferi. Jered briefly looks at Teferi as Zadorin lets a ball of dark energy zip just past his ear. Jered: Teferi! Zadorin has done something to me! I can't feel the mana lines of the earth or draw from the sun! Help me! Teferi gently shakes the panicked man again. Teferi: Jered, look around you. This isn't real. Jered: Of course its real! Don't you see Zadorin over there?! Teferi: Think hard, Jered. Something is missing, isn't it? Jered: Huh? What do you mean? The light solar mage looks around at his surroundings. After a few moments, he realizes what's wrong. Jered: Ashmere, where is she?! What did Zadorin do to her?! Teferi: Nothing, Jered. This isn't real. Look. The adept star mage walks over to the dream Zadorin and passes his hand through the figure. He removes his hand unharmed and shows it to Jered. Jered blinks in surprise. Teferi: Do you see now? Jered walks over to Teferi and waves his hand through Zadorin as well. Zadorin aims a ball of energy at the mage, but it doesnt harm him as it touches his skin. Jered: What is all this? Teferi: From what I can tell, Zadorin has concocted some kind of nightmare spell. He gave each of us our worst nightmares or reminders of the past. For me, he sent me a dream about when the stars began to move. Jered: So my dream fed off of a fear that I couldn't draw energy for spells when I needed them most? Teferi: It appears so. Now that you are lucid though, you should be ok. Go ahead and try. Jered slowly feels as a familiar feeling rush back to him as he gathers energy and releases it at the dream Zadorin. The dark mage disappears as the energy touches him. Jered turns to Teferi and takes notice of the spell in his hands. Jered: What's that for? Teferi: I'm using this spell to find out where the real Zadorin is. If nothing else, its led me to you and hopefully we'll find Ashmere along the way as well. We can wake her up like how I woke you up. Jered: But we are still dreaming, right? Teferi: Correct, except now we are in control, not Zadorin. Come on, we better hurry. Who knows how bad things might be in the real world right now. We need to end this quickly. Jered: But how do we get out of here? Teferi: Hold onto my hand and follow me. Block out all thoughts of this nightmare and we should be ok. Jered nods and takes Teferi's hand. Following the line of light, the two mages slowly exit the dark sphere and leave it behind. As they do, the mountain air and sounds of battle fade away. Back in the space between dreams, Teferi and Jered continue on. |

The two mages see another dark sphere off in the distance after walking for a long period of time. As they near it, the two men can hear Ashmere crying out. Jered: We have to go in and help Ashmere! Teferi: Calm yourself, Jered. That's why we came here, remember? Jered nods silently. Teferi and the solar mage of light slowly walk into the dark sphere. Inside, the two find themselves surrounded by figures and darkness. There is some candlelight, but not much. Following the thread of Teferi's spell, they come to another dream Zadorin, this one standing next to a figure wearing a black cloak. Teferi strains his ears in the unusual silence. Faintly, he hears a voice crying and shouting, as if far away. Jered: Ashmere! Where are you? The figure in the cloak turns stiffly to face the men. Jered looks at the figure's face in the dim light, recognizing it to be Ashmere. He tries to run over to her, but Teferi holds onto his hand tightly. Teferi: If you let go of me, you'll wake up. This thread is the only thing letting us move from dream to dream. Jered: But its Ashmere! We have to help her! In between the faint sobs, Ashmere's voice can be heard although the figure in black never opens her mouth. Ashmere: Oh no, now they have Teferi and Jered too! Run! Run while you can! Curse you Zadorin for doing this to me! Teferi: Ashmere, is that you? Where are you? Jered: Ashmere, its us. We came to help you. Tell us where you are. The sobbing sounds to be a little louder now. Ashmere: Y-you can hear me? But how? I'm trapped in here all alone... Teferi and Jered move closer to the figure of Ashmere in the black cloak. Jered notices the embroidered star on the front and points it out to Teferi. Teferi: Ashmere, none of this is real. You are just dreaming. Jered: This is just a nightmare created by Zadorin. None of it is real. You aren't one of the dark ones, I promise you. Ashmere: But, but he has control of me now! I can't move or anything! I'm trapped here. Please help me! Ashmere's sobs sound louder as a tear slowly rolls down the unspeaking figure's cheek. Jered lightly reaches out and brushes away the tear. Jered: Come on, Ashmere, you can do this! Take control of your dream! I know you can! Jered holds out his hand to Ashmere. Ashmere: But I dont have control... Jered: Yes you do. This is your dream and you can do anything in it. I know you aren't a dark star. If you dont take control of this dream though, Zadorin will win and who knows what he will do? Slowly, Ashmere's hand begins to move out towards Jered's. Jered: Yes! Thats it! Gently, Ashmere wraps her fingers around Jered's hand. More tears stream down her face. As each tear rolls down and hits her cloak, it beings to fade away. Ashmere: Thank you! Thank you for saving me! Teferi: We would never even think abandoning you, Ashmere. This is your dream though. You really saved yourself. Ashmere: I thought it was real though. It felt so real. Jered: Its ok now. Everything will be fine. Teferi: Well, everything will really be fine once this battle ends. Teferi looks down at the light in his hands. The light of the thread wavers somewhat. Teferi: I had hoped we could follow this all the way to Zadorin and battle him in this dream world, but with all of us lucidly dreaming now, things are beginning to deteriorate. The best thing for us to do now is wake up. I'm sure a spell of this caliber must have taken a lot out of him, so we should try to jump attack as quickly as possible, agreed? The other two mages nod. Jered: I think I can still sense the spell I had working on the dome. In my panicked nightmare dream state, I think I actually gave it more energy. I dont feel as much resistance as there once was. Teferi nods at Jered approvingly. |

Teferi: Ashmere, are you going to be ready to attack the minute you wake up? Ashmere: Zadorin is going to pay for everything he has done. Not only to people, but to nature itself. Jered gently squeezes Ashmere's hand reassuringly. Jered: We wont let the coward run away this time. Teferi: Well then, shall we wake him up? With a single motion, all three council members let go of each other and the spell holding them there within the dream world. The diffused light of the sun through the dark barrier greets them as they all wake up. Teferi and Ashmere are still standing and Jered is still lying on the ground nearby his strengthened spell against the dome. They all look over at Zadorin in his trance state. Teferi: Now while we have the upper hand! Jered begins to draw energy from the sun and earth and with new stamina, sends it into his spell to shatter the dome. His spell gives off a bright light as it pounds at Zadorin's field. Ashmere begins to call up a spell. The air around her sword begins to take on a hazy shade of green. Little sparks of energy run up and down the blade, anxious to be let loose. Teferi takes note of the fading darkness in the dome and then notices Zadorin's spell moving towards Jered's. Teferi tosses two blades charged with energy at the same time towards it. As the blades fly, a finely woven net glimmers between the two. The daggers move on either side, wrapping the net around Zadorin's dark wall and pushing it down towards the ground. The two knives bite into the ground and hold firm. With that out of the way, Teferi calls up a new spell while gathering energy. Teferi: When I say go, attack with me, Ashmere. Ashmere: Okay. Small balls of energy surround Teferi, buzzing around him quickly. Each ball of energy is a slightly different color. As they spin faster, they begin to flatten into small disks, each smaller than the top of a nail. Spheres continue to appear, flatten and spin around Teferi until its hard to even see him in the midst of it all. Teferi: NOW! The tornado of tiny energy disks fly towards Zadorin at an amazing speed. As Teferi's spell swarms and attacks the dark solar mage, Ashmere lets loose from her sword a series of rapid fire needles. Each green energy needle moves to fill in between the disks. The two spells work cooperatively to eat at and destroy Zadorin's already weakened armor. ---- Meanwhile, outside the dome, Raen continues to watch Leon and the vacuum while she gathers energy, planing to aim it into the vacuum to close it. Raen: If you dont close this thing, I will and I'll make sure it won't close until you are in it! ---- Aided by a minor swift spell, Nalyr silently continues his travels north, searching for a place he had been to many times with Icefall during their travels of Riandisa. The snow owl makes his way closer as he flies over the Aldea forest. The Aldea forest is the largest area of woodland on Rian. Some of the oldest trees grow in these woods. These trees, full of history and knowledge, thrive in this area rarely touched by humans. With his sharp eyesight, Nalyr eventually picks out a house deep within the thick cover of branches and rich green leaves. Flying carefully downwards, Nalyr takes a perch atop a pole set into the ground outside the house which was made for such a purpose. As he rests from his long, non-stop flight, Nalyr watches the window and waits. |

<Zadorin feels himself floating in complete darkness... It is as chilling as death itself. He feels his mind entering other worlds, those created by himself. All three of them.... He searches them, but neither Jered, Ashmere, or Teferi can be found by him. He was shocked and confused at Teferi entering the other worlds and leaving them at his own will, and his mind searches for an answer... Until it sets upon Dranick.> ::Damn you.... You never taught me the full spells! Only enough to make them work... You wanted to insure no one surpassed you in your magical capabilities... And that decision has cost me much. If I never wake, then I shall hunt you to the ends of the netherworld...:: <Zadorin stops supporting the three small worlds, and desperately tries to wake himself up. The darkness around him slowly begins to fade, revealing the world around him. His shaded vision clears to show Teferi and Ashmere greeting his return with another magical assault. The tornado and needles rush towards Zadorin, the needles stabbing into his armor and beginning to absorb it and the small discs encircling him, slowly shredding through his only defense. His reinforced desperate urge to awaken speeds his return to consciousness. As he regains control of himself in the physical world, he realizes that he would not have enough time to destroy the spells around him and still keep up an offensive, even if his three opponents did not have more spells ready to use on him. But as the dome finally fades to nothingness, an idea comes into his mind.> ::It comes to this.... Our experimental spell...:: <Zadorin turns to look behind him, and sees a few Dark Solar Mages whom had just defeated another Solar Mage. Taking the window of opportunity while he can he shouts to the mages.> Zadorin: ''Destroy these spells, then rally a group to execute ''Dark Gamma!'''' <Zadorin's followers acknowledge his command and begin focusing energy into releasing the mana from each disc and needle, quickly whittling away at the strength of the spell. As they destroy the two spells, Zadorin lifts his hands to the sky, condensing the dark rays from the partially blackened sun into compact spheres, so that their energy would burst from impact. The discs that impact into them make the spheres shrink slightly, but destroys the discs. Once six spheres are formed, they launch towards Teferi, Ashmere, and Jered. When that is done, he begins to aid the three mages in their work. But as they are near finishing, the armor is destroyed, and the remaining discs slice partly into his skin before being destroyed. The needles, however, are all dissipated before harming Zadorin. The three mages hurry off to gather a small group, while Zadorin prepares more mana to be used in whatever spell he may need to defend himself from the next assault.> |

Upon hearing Zadorin yelling to his men, Teferi can't help but comment. Teferi: Pleasant dreams, Zadorin? Did you sleep well? After Jered's spell finishes off the dark dome, he lets his own spell begin to taper off and returns the energies back to the earth. Jered gives a brief sigh of relief that he doesn't have to concentrate on that spell anymore. He slowly stands up although injured. The group of councilmen spread out in their regained space. Teferi pays close attention to the damages caused by Ashmere's spell and his own while Zadorin tries to disspell them. He pays so much attention, Teferi forgets to be on guard and is hit directly by one of Zadorin's dark spheres. Although his shields absorb a certain amount of the hit, Teferi still falls backwards and as brief and painful stinging sensations passes through his body. A second sphere comes at him, but Teferi has just enough time to deflect it with a sphere of bright light. The two spheres aimed at Ashmere move at such speed, she can't overcome both of them. She bats one away with her charged sword, but the other hits her open side, causing her to stumble backwards until she bumps into a tree. Ashmere uses the tree to help her keep standing as pain moves through her side. Jered is barely back on his feet again before he painfully dives at the ground to avoid the spheres of darkness aimed at him. One brushes along his back while the other hits the ground. Jered draws a sharp breath and fights to keep the stars in his vision at bay. Coughing hard, Teferi slowly stands up. Teferi: How many rules of magic and nature do you plan to break before we stop you? The movement of the stars is just one of many crimes against you. Tell me, whose bonded wolves did you send after Icefall? Such cowardice, Zadorin. Forcing those poor creatures to attack her and then making them speak in a human tongue is not only disrespectful to nature and the sacred bonds, but also shows how low and cowardly you are. Having someone else do your fighting for you while you hide. Teferi begins to draw energy for a new spell. A long, dull grey, blade of light appears before the Star mage. Slowly, Teferi pulls one hand back from the other, as if drawing an arrow in its bow. Skillfully, Teferi lets go of the imaginary bow string and the grey blade moves quickly towards Zadorin. As the arrow silently cuts through the air, it sharpens itself and solidifies. Teferi creates 9 more arrows and sends them at the leader of the Dark Solar mages. As Teferi attacks Zadorin, Ashmere slowly regains her composure and moves to stand next to Jered as the pain in her side begins to subside. She reaches down and helps Jered to stand up. Gently, she casts a minor healing spell for Jered so that he can stand on his own. Jered nods a thanks to Ashmere. |
